Food and exercise are two of the biggest contributors to a person’s health, and the saying, “You are what you eat,” is actually quite true. What about food today makes correct eating such a challenge? Is it the fact that almost everything on the market that’s considered a common purchase contains some amount of high fructose corn syrup? Maybe it’s because healthy food is expensive to buy and time consuming to convert into a meal. We should not be too busy to properly nourish our bodies!

Yet, despite the extreme importance of food to a person’s health and wellbeing, it persists as a problematic hurdle for many, many Americans. Saving money and streamlining efficiency are two of our busy society’s main goals. In the food department, though, that translates as buying cheap stuff and getting convenient (aka premade or microwave) meals. Probably not the two optimal stipulations for purchasing wholesome, healthy foods, right? The truth is, food seems harder to control these days. True, you can control what you buy, but not necessarily the condition it’s in when you bring it home from the store.
